Im just letting people know. But i think the left hand one has slightly moved out (5mm) . If you touch the glue it feels soft!!!!!!
If they are in deep they will be ok for a bit but no one seems to know who put them in?
They must be 20 odd years old now

Last time I rapped off it I noted it looked like it should be replaced. The chain links are starting to show a bit of wear as well.

I put them in c1995. Coincidentally I used them a few days ago and thought they looked perfectly serviceable.
They will be made using 70 mm long M10 316 ss with Araldite glue coupled with 8 mm galv chain (which is looking fine to my eye). I have removed quite a few bolts of similar specs in recent years and have found them all to be VERY strong and also to have a lot of residual strength even after they have started to pull out [note: I wasn't removing them because of doubts about their strength but because location was poor, e.g., too far apart!].
If anyone wants to replace them with something more modern-looking I have no problem with it but my suggestion is that the effort would be better placed elsewhere; some suggestions: there needs to be a lot more rap anchors on the Pipes (most climbs haven't got any although they would be great to have); ditto for Coles Bay; and the Frews raps should be replaced.
If you want to remove the existing ones on BM the carrot puller is currently with Guy Able last I heard. You will probably need to take a hack-saw too so that you can remove the chain and thus get the carrot puller over the bolt head.

I think the carrot puller me and Guy where using broke......if its the same one. One of the bolts cross threaded...I think. :P
