Waterworks Quarry is one of the nastiest little piles of shit in the world. Everything about it is wrong. I scratched about in there in 1977/78 with a few other desperate psych-ward escapees and rape victims. Some were derelict alcoholics, others burnt out prostitutes. Once we were there on Hobart's coldest day in 42 years. The routes were not named or documented, like being raped by a priest. We are all very ashamed. But our experiences there took us up one giant notch. We could effectively move vertically over a constantly moving rockface. We are better people for that. Cheerio.
what's the deal with the chopped bolts above Eye Bolt Route (no 5) at the L end of the crag?
From memory there were a couple of routes added as extensions to the eye bolt route, but they ended up getting chopped because there was so much loose rock coming down.
