Thought this might interest a couple people on here.

Have been to Oatlands quite a lot again lately and as of this week, the Devils Kitchenette and the Devils Kitchen main cave are more or less dry.

Nevertheless, for the next couple of weeks or so, until the ground dries up completely, bringing a tarp to protect your pads from the mud would be a great idea.

Attached is a pic, shot from the Right Side looking towards the Antichrist Area, and as you can see there is only one little puddle of water left.

Have many more pictures from basically every other area surrounding the lake so just let me know the area you are interested in and I'll post a pic.

  1. Pretty much all of oatlands besides the island is climbable now, for the first time in a few years.

Still a bit muddy in places though.

I guess the water level in the future depends on how much water goes in and out for the Midlands irrigation scheme - which is now operational: http://www.tasmanianirrigation.com.au/index.php/schemes/midlands

  2. For anyone wondering, after the very wet last few months, there is at least 40-50cm of water in the main cave at the moment.

Rumble cave is of course still out of the water, but was seeping, as the ground above is saturated.

Probably the highest I've ever seen the lake. At least the ducks are loving it.
