Hey John, Awesome resource for climbing in Tassie!! Noticed there is no online Hillwood guide ... whats the chance of getting one up and running? Ive got some good photos after a recent trip that could be used for topos.

Cheers

Guy

  1. No chance mate. The cliff is on private property and you can't publish a guide to private property without the owners permission. The Climb Tasmania guidebook was only allowed after 4 years of negotiation and building trust with the owners. We have an arrangment with the landowners that the existing guidebook (in Climb Northern Tasmania) is the only one he will allow. Last time someone tried to put out another guide to Hillwood the landowner threatened them with legal action and the closure of the cliff.

    1. I agree Guy, it would be fantastic if there was an online Hillwood guide.

Gerry: If the agreement with the landowners was that Hillwood topos were only to be published in the "Climb Northern Tasmania" guide, then those topos in "Climb Tasmania" would be in breach of that agreement. Are the landowners are aware of this!? I hope the information published in "Climb Tasmania" hasn't jeopardised our access to Hillwood!!

Maybe I have missed something? If the landowners were willing for the information to be published in both "Climb Northern Tasmania" AND "Climb Tasmania", then perhaps they would also be willing for the information to be available online?
