Hi all,

I have a Kong 'Slit Fit' size 0 cam for sale. $30. It has been placed about 5 times, never fallen on. Selling as it's no longer needed.

Good for expanding a rack, as it fits between a Camalot C3 size 2 and a Camalot C4 0.3. Review here: http://www.chockstone.org/Forum/Forum.asp?Action=Display&ForumID=6&MessageID=3775&Replies=10. If you're intrested, my mobile is 0400346976 or email me at will_bartlett@hotmail.com. Cheers!

There has been a mysterious removal of about $2000 worth of gear from Hillwood recently, which thankfully has been recovered, but nonetheless was a weird situation indeed. Bob McMahon was conducting a school climbing camp at Hillwood and left several abseil setups, top-ropes etc overnight for the school kids the next day. When they came back the next morning, all the gear was gone. There were some climbers at Hillwood that day while Bob was with the school group, and if they were the culprits, should have realised that it was Bob's gear for the school group. By a sheer fluke, one of the students found a note stuck in a bush saying `we have the gear' and gave a phone number. When Bob went round to collect it an evasive fellow gave him the run around before finally admitting that the gear was in the house. It seems he was not at Hillwood on the day, but his mates had dropped the gear at his house. Was this to stay anonymous? Were they fair dinkum thieves who got cold feet? Who knows - a mystery indeed.

Trad gear hire

Hi all,
I live in Perth and am coming soon in Tasmania for holidays. Is there any place where I could hire some trad gear? (I do not want to bother bringing all mime). Cheers. Francois

Hi.

I'm flying to tasi at around christmas time and am planning on spending a few days at freycinet with my girlfriend, hoping to get some climbs in while we're there. Planning to do a few easier climbs, namely Apline 70m grade 12, and unnamed 50m grade 15, (both at white water wall) as well as the big slab climb called pneisses 240m grade 15 at the hazards main wall.

To save on weight on the plane I was hoping to trim my rack down, and having not climbed there before I was wondering what kind of pro I should bring, and what should i leave at home...

I was thinking of bringing the following:

RPs
A set of wires (some doubles in the smaller sizes)
small to medium cams
slings and some bolt plates...

Anyone done the climbs i listed, and would that gear cover it?

I figured i'd leave my offsets at home (both dmm peanuts and hb offsets) as well as my beloved hexes and large cams. What are your thoughts? Anyone found offsets useful there?

One other thing, how do you go about cleaning climbing gear after climbing at sea cliffs?

Cheers, Rob.
