Jake Bresnehan has climbed his project, the arete to the right of Icarus on The Columns. He's called it Freedom and graded "around 30", making it the hardest thing on the Organ Pipes, in one of the best locations.

It is now about 3 years since we published the Guide and it is probably a good time to undertake a brief review. If you have any corrections, comments on grades or stars or updated route info, please post them on the Forum or let me, Jon Nermut, Al Adams, Phil Robinson or Dave Humphries know the next time you catch up with one of us. Many thanks.

Guide book found on second pitch of Lone Stranger. While climbing this classic organ pipes GRADE 19, I discovered a slightly weathered but still readable new edition Mt Wellington guide book. The name on the title page is Tony Mckenny. I assume it must belong to some local climber. I would be happy to return this book for a small finders fee... Perhaps a cold beverage.

Also found: One Colgate toothbrush at the base of Pole Dancer. Very well loved hold brush. Please provide me with the color and I will gladly hand over the brush!

See ya out there!

Hi my son who can climb to grade 13/14 and I would love someone to lead us at Mt Wellington, we have our own gear and I have experience in belaying. Worst case we'll top rope if someone can tell us the best place for easier grade climbs. My contact number is 03 9297 6780 which will divert to 0408 348 709. We have a car

climbing partner in Hobart

I have recently moved to Hobart, and I'm looking for climbing partners, mainly to hit up Mt Wellington. I climb around grade 19/20 on gear. I am generally free on the weekends, and Mondays/Thursdays too (smile)

While climbing Aqualung at Denison Crag I noticed a bolt on the face to the left. The bolt has now been removed. A reminder that Ben Lomond is a bolt free zone.

The link from the Springs to the start of the N-S track has been opened:

ON Tuesday(Jan 12th), after going into town for a rest day, 7 cams were stolen out of my tent by persons unknown. The description of the gear is as follows: 2 C-3's sizes 1 and 2, 2 Camalot cams sizes 3 and 4, and lastly 3 omega link cams sizes .5, .75, and 2.
I am absolutely gutted from this happening and am blown away that it could occur in such a remote location. Our tent was hidden far away behind the Carra Villa Hut but obviously this wasn't hidden well enough. I've been 3 months on the road and this totally derails my future climbing plans. Bummed.

Please everyone be cautious about where you leave your gear and keep your eyes open if you see someone trying to pawn off any link cams on the internet.
If anyone has any leads or comes accross this gear for sale on E-bay or elsewhere, please contact me at nt0828@westminstercollege.edu

Safe climbing,
Niels T.
