Bare Rock is an obvious feature to anybody driving through the Fingal Valley. Its dark, sombre, 200m face towers over Fingal. There are only about a dozen routes on such a large chunk of rock due to the lack of natural lines. This may change if people follow the trend of The Sapphire Rose and put up sport routes directly up the face of the cliff. There are a few other crags in the Fingal valley including South Sister and Township Creek, but these are guideless at the present stageincluded in the Climb Northern Tasmania guide.

Access

Directly behind Fingal, in the Fingal valley about an hour from Launceston, see Craglets for more details. Township Creek is in the next valley to the east of Bare Rock. South Sister is on a hill north of St Marys - take the road a few km's before the town to the look out on top of the hill and drop down the back to the cliffs.
