<header name="Mt Owen bouldering" id="1" walk="30 - 90 min" sun="Afternoon" rock="Conglomerate" acknowledgement="By Ben Thorp and Moses Bassett" intro="Mount Owen has a lot of bouldering potential now made much more accessible with Roam Wild running shuttles up and down for mountain bike uplift. They are happy to take pad people too. Thus far we have developed one sector a few hundred metres down the Natural Selection mountain bike trail. The rock in this particular spot is pretty special. Possibilities exist all over the top of the mountain and there is sure to be more to come. " history="After a few missions exploring up here we finally got around to going up with the pads. This development was supported by West Coast Council." access="Currently the uplift costs $35 per person per trip and usually departs at 8.30, 11.00, 1.00 and 3.00. Check the Roam Wild website though. From the drop off point at the Owen Spur it is possible to walk to a number of areas. Descent is either by jumping back on the shuttle on a trip down later in the day or walking out via the Horsetail Falls trail. If you take the later option you will need to specify to Roam Wild that you want to be picked up at the Horsetail Falls carpark in the morning or organise a car shuffle back to town. It is possible to walk up as well but it would be at least an hour and half from the Horsetail Falls carpark to the Natural Selection boulders.
