Hi evryone

I'm thinking to buy a new double rope 50 or 60m (edelweiss oxygen 8.2 or so) for the pipes, Arapiles ...  and latter on for different trips including in Europe (which can be pretty heavy while travelling to have this extra 20m) . But I'm wondering which length I should take, according to a buddy of mine in France, a 2*50m is far enough, but I don't want to regret. By reading the the tassie climbing book, 60m doesn't look that useful. So any advice is more than welcomed.

FUll leather boot, goretex lining, vibram sole. Barely used, some scratches but no maor damage. Sno-seal has been put on them so they look a bit waxy.
